Morocco and Onepoint Sign Agreement to Launch AI and Data Excellence Center

Rabat, July 22, 2025

As part of the national “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy, the Moroccan government signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Rabat with international consulting and tech group Onepoint, paving the way for the creation of a Center of Excellence dedicated to data and artificial intelligence.

The new center, set to be established in the Casablanca-Settat region, aims to reinforce Morocco’s infrastructure for data management and the development of AI-driven solutions. Its mission is to support the modernization of public services, accelerate the digital transformation of businesses, and create more than 500 skilled jobs by 2029.


Strategic Investment for Digital Sovereignty

This initiative aligns with the Moroccan government’s national priorities, including:

  • Human capital development

  • Technological innovation

  • Digital sovereignty

  • Strengthening Industry 4.0 ecosystems

The project brings together key public and private stakeholders to foster a cutting-edge digital innovation hub that will position Morocco as a leader in AI and data technologies on the African continent.

“This center will play a key role in enhancing Morocco’s competitiveness and fostering a sustainable digital economy,” said Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administration Reform.


Onepoint: A Global Tech Player

Headquartered in France, Onepoint operates in several countries, including Canada and Morocco, and currently employs more than 4,000 people worldwide. In 2024, the group reported revenues of €500 million, with the ambitious goal of reaching €1 billion by 2028.

The company will bring to Morocco its expertise in AI strategy, digital architecture, and smart systems integration, helping to structure a high-impact local ecosystem of innovation.

The signing ceremony brought together several government and industry leaders:

  • Representing Onepoint: David Layani, Founder & Chairman; Bertrand Baret, Deputy CEO; and El Mehdi Alaoui Mrani, Head of the Morocco office

This high-level cooperation underlines Morocco’s growing attractiveness as a tech investment hub in Africa and reinforces its commitment to becoming a center for digital innovation and excellence in the coming decade.
